A Living Screensaver: The Chillhouse Live Listener Map, Full-Screen
Press the little full-screen button on our listener map and something shifts. The globe lets go of the page, fills the whole screen, and starts to turn. City lights glow. Soft rings pulse. It stops being a web page and becomes something you just want to leave running.
We didn't set out to build a screensaver. We ended up with one.

Not wallpaper. A living window.
A screensaver is usually a loop - the same drifting shapes, forever. This one is never the same twice, because it is made of real people.
- The glowing dots are cities where people have tuned in. Brighter and bigger means more listeners gathered there.
- The orange rings pulse in real time around the places where someone is listening right now. It refreshes on its own every few seconds.
- A small "listeners near" list names the cities that are live at this very moment.
- Along the bottom, a slow line counts it all up: how many tune-ins, from how many cities, in how many countries so far.
No clicking, no menus. Press play on the 24/7 stream, press full-screen, and let it breathe.
Made for rooms, not just desks
It looks lovely on a laptop while you work. But it really comes alive on a big screen in a shared space:
- a cocktail bar or lounge, glowing quietly behind the bar
- a café or restaurant in the slow hours
- a hotel lobby, spa or co-working corner
- a waiting room - turning a dead TV into something calm instead of rolling news
Pair it with the stream and you get ambient sound and ambient vision from one place: no ads, nothing shouting for attention, nothing to babysit. (If you run a space, our guide to where chill house works best goes deeper.)
We're all in the same room
Watch it turn for a minute and the distances shrink. A dot on the far side of the planet is not a stranger - they reached for the same calm you did. Different hour, different window, the same slow groove holding it together. Music has always done this quietly; the map just lets you see it. (We wrote more about that feeling in We're All on the Same Little Marble.)
Private by design
The map only ever shows a city - never a name, never a device, never who you are. The live rings are simply light where listeners are. Lovely to look at, nothing to worry about.
Set it up in a minute
- Open the stream and press play.
- Open the live map.
- Press the Full-screen button at the top of the globe.
- On a TV, cast the browser tab or plug in over HDMI, then just leave it running.
That's it. The globe turns, the rings pulse, the world tunes in.
Come find your dot - and see who is listening with you tonight.
